Introduction
There
is no single correct approach to constructing a CV, but there
are definitely ways not to do it. In our 25+ years in the recruitment
business we have seen it all so if you think you could use a little
advice in preparing or updating your CV then you might like to
review some of our suggestions.
If
you remember nothing else, think of your CV as your single most
important marketing tool. You have only a very limited time to
capture the reader's attention and to accurately convey your skills
and experience, so make sure what's on the page is easily and
quickly interpreted.
Lastly,
when writing your CV, it might be helpful bearing the following
3 factors in mind:
1)
Employers and recruitment consultants alike will spend no more
than two minutes assessing your CV.
2)
Your CV may be one of hundreds being assessed - make it a document
that sells and differentiates you.
3)
Speed-read your CV - recruiters will. Does your CV say who you
are in 120 seconds?
